Mordecai brings a new concept in Jewish music with his South-American flavor. As a Jew raised in Uruguay, he was very influenced by the Uruguayan, Argentinian and Brazilian music (Bossa, Samba-Reggae.)
His goal is to educate, entertain and inspire the Jewish people around the world and to serve as part of a chain of artists who advocate for the peace among nations.
As a song-leader, Mordecai offers a vibrant and innovative Kabbalat Shabbat services with a Latin twist as well as Cantorial services for weddings.
In 2009 he produces his CD-album “Diaspora South” with original songs and adaptations of Psalms and poems from the Bible and Medieval Spanish Jewry.
This album accomplishes a very authentic sound and rich blend of Latin rhythms mixed with Mediterranean, Pop, Afro-Brazilian, Mizrahi, Israeli-Arabic and Flamenco. This wide variety of musical styles makes it an unprecedented treat for the ears.
Mordecai is also the creator of “Kosher Tangos” in which he sings very well known creations like Cambalache, Volver and Mi “Jerusalem” Querida filled with Jewish content and irreverent humor.
